Pharmaceuticals in the environment

In this section of the course we consider Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) after use: their routes into the environment, what happens to APIs in the environment, effects on species, and specific hazards of certain APIs. The importance of environmental risk assessments and 'Benign by Design' principles are also discussed.
